Sustainable Tourism in Krabi: How Krabi Journey Bliss Gives Back to Paradise

A Personal Commitment to Krabi
I was born and raised in Krabi. I have watched this province transform over the past 25 years from a quiet fishing community into one of Southeast Asia's most visited destinations. That transformation has brought enormous economic opportunity — and enormous responsibility.
When I founded Krabi Journey Bliss, I made a commitment: we would only operate in ways that I would be proud to explain to my children and to my neighbors in the communities that make Krabi what it is.
Our Operating Principles
Small Groups Only
We never overload boats or vehicles. Every tour has a strict maximum of 8 guests. This is not a selling point — it is a genuine belief that small groups are better for the environment, better for local communities, and infinitely better for you as a traveler. Overcrowded tours contribute to reef damage, noise pollution, and the degradation of sacred sites.
Ethical Wildlife Encounters
We do not visit or recommend elephant rides, tiger temples, or any attraction that involves captive wild animals performing for tourists. On our nature tours, we observe wildlife in natural habitats with minimal disturbance. We partner only with certified elephant sanctuaries where elephants live in large natural enclosures and are never made to perform.
Supporting Local Businesses
All food on our tours is sourced from local markets and prepared by local families. Our boat captains, drivers, and guides are Krabi residents — we pay fair wages above market rate. When you book with us, your money stays in Krabi's communities, not in distant corporate accounts.
Coral Reef Protection
We brief every guest on reef-safe sunscreen and no-touch snorkeling etiquette before every water-based tour. We avoid anchoring on coral and use mooring buoys where available. We carry reusable water containers on all tours — no single-use plastic bottles on any Krabi Journey Bliss vessel.
Beach Clean-Up Program
Our team participates in monthly beach clean-ups organized through the Krabi Tourism Council. Guests who wish to join are always welcome — it is a powerful way to connect with the landscape and the local community simultaneously.
How You Can Travel Responsibly in Krabi
Choosing a small, locally-owned operator is already one of the best choices you can make. Beyond that: carry a reusable bag, say no to single-use plastics, tip your guides fairly, and take only photographs. Leave every beach exactly as beautiful as you found it.
Krabi is extraordinary. Let us keep it that way — together.
